THAMES HOSPITAL BOARD.

[BT telegraph. — CORRESPONDENT.]

Thames, Tuesday. The monthly meeting of the Thames Hospital trustees was held last night, Mr. J. M. Foy presiding.

.The house surgeon reported for the- month that ! the'number of patients in the .wards at the hist return was 23 males and 12 females; number admitted since, 31 males and 11 females; discharged; 21 males and 12 females, and one death ; number remaining at date, 33 males and 10 females ; number of out-patients, 25 males and 11 females; and attendances, 165 males and 35 females.

The House Committee's report stated that owing to the limited accommodation at the hospital and the small area of the grounds negotiations had been proceeding with .Mr. J. W. Hall for the purchase of his property adjoining the hospital grounds in Mackay-street. Mr. Burns stated that in company with.the chairman he bad interviewed Mi. Hall on the matter and that gentleman had made an offer to sell his property tor £950 under certain conditions. After.considerable discussion as to ways and means it was finally decided that the chairman and Mr. Burns confer with Mr. Hall as to arrangement of purchase and report at next meeting. :, The tender of J. Hawkes at £300 for construction of a septic lank and drainage thereto' was accepted. The following tenders were accepted for supplies : —Groceries, Ensor Brothers; bread, Hosking; milk, Cribb ; . meat, Bateman; ' fuel, Hawkes. ; The amount owing for arrears of hospital fees was discussed. The secretary stated that the fees in arrears during the last lour years amounted to several thousand pounds. It was decided to take the necessary steps to recover as .much o:f these amounts as was practicable.
