[BY TELEGRAPH. CORRESPONDENT.] Waihi, Tuesday. After the ordinary business had been transacted last night the members of .'.he local Foresters' lodge held a social. In addition to dancing, several musical items were given, and a very enjoyable time was spent. Mr. Christian supplied the dance music, and Brother C. Sampson acted as master of ceremonies. '
To-morrow evening Dr. Neligan, Anglican Bishop of Auckland, will address a public meeting in the Miners' Union Hall on Church missionary work. ■ Whilst in the district Bishop Neligan will administer the rite of confirmation at St. John's Church. Meteorological observations taken by Mr. H. B. De-vereux, of Waihi, show that the rainfall foi May here amounted to B.Blin, rain tailing on 18 days of the month. The total rainfall from January 1 to May 31 .amounted to no less than 62in.
