The Island mail steamer ; Tambo, Captain Voy, of Burns, Philp, and Co.'s line, arrived off town at ten a.m. on. the 9th inst., and after safely landing her mails, passengers, and cargo, resumed her voyage to the islands just after dusk the same day.; Mrs.: Elliot, the wife of the chief magistrate, returned to the island in the Tambo, and the steamer also brought several tourists', who are delighted with: the island. One of them, the Rev. Father Barry, celebrated Mass at Anson Bay last Sunday morning, this being the first Catholic service held here for over 50 years. . The following are the weather ' notes for April: —Barometer Highest, on the 4th, 29.900; lowest, on the 6th, 29.450. Thermometer: Maximum, 79 minimum, 60. Rain, on seven days, 4.50 in. Winds: 16 days westerly, 14 days.
