AUCKLAND MINISTERS' ASSOCIA- v , r , . TION. - ,' ''■~,_' The monthly meeting; :of the Auckland Ministers' Association was held in St. Luke's manse, Eemucra. ; The Rev. John Wilkins, president, occupied the chair, and there was an. excellent attendance. .The Rev; W. S. Potter was appointed hon. treasurer in place of the Rev. J. B. Russell, resigned. A subcommittee was appointed to arrange for the annual "quiet day." The Rev. S. Griffith, Dcvonport, promised a ; paper on " Commerce and Christianity" for the July meeting. Mr. J. G. Mitchell gave a telling address on "Reaching Young Men." An interesting discussion took place, -in which, the president, the Revs. G. B. Monro, W. G. J. Spence, F. Thompson, A. T. Williams, and W. S. Potter took part. Mr. Mitchell -was thanked for his suggestive and practical address. The members were the guests of the Rev. G.' 8., Mrs., and the Misses Monro at tea. _ ",.,''..
MOUNT ALBERT ROAD BOARD. . , A meeting of the Mount Albert Road .Board was held last evening. Mr. Murdoch McLean (chairman) presided, and Messrs. I.' • F. H. J. Ellisdon and J. M. Stanton were \i* also present. \:■/■•".'' Requests: Letters were received from several ratepayers requesting that gas lamps might be erected in certain streets. The ; ■ letters were referred to the Lighting Com- .' ' mittee. Letters from ratepayers asking that certain footpaths might receive attention, 'were referred to tho Works Committee. "; '• ..V Sanitation: A letter was received from the district health officer (Dr. "J. S. .Piudy) requesting that in ; view of the outbreak of ' septicaemia the- Board might have a house-' i to-house, inspection made in the district. -'■:'■: The chairman said that after consultation ! ■ with other members of the Board two inspectors had been appointed to deal with ■'.'-•' : ■ the matter. As yet only one had forwarded) a report, and it was of a somewhat drastic nature. "Mr. fillisdon spoke : strongly against the action several ratepayers in not availi . ing themselves of the sanitary service, and) it was decided to ; prosecute offenders.; ■■/: - Engineer's Report: The engineer reported j that the average daily consumption of water j throughout: the district • for the past month j was 57,000 gallons..
