AUSTRALIAN PREMIERS' CONFERENCE.
GERMANY'S PACIFIC POLICY. By Telegraph.—Press Association.—Copyright. (Received June 4, 12.5 a.m.) , Brisbane, June 3. The Premiers' Conference was : resumed today. .A resolution was passed as follows: — That, recognising the great importance of free intercourse between Australia and the Pacific Islands, this Conference emphatically reaffirms the principle that throughout the islands, whether under British or foreign control, the local conditions of trade should prevail for the traders of all nationalities, and any regulations imposing disabilities on the Australian traders should be annulled as soon as possible." It also was resolved that the British Government be urged to press Germany for a prompt settlement of the claim of Messrs. Burns, Philp, and Co., for the expenditure involved in re-establishing treaty and trading rights in the Marshalls and Caroline. Islands.
