REEFTON WESTPORT RAILWAY.
GREATER EXPEDITION CALLED FOR
[BY TELEGRAPH.— ASSOCIATION.]
. Wellington, Saturday. At a representative and largely-attended meeting at Reefton, called by the county chairman, strong resolutions were passed, condemning the slow progress made by the Government in connection with the Reef-ton-Westport railway, considering the rich country and the auriferous ' belt to be passed through. "
\ The Westport bodies were urged to support more strenuous efforts to push on the railway, and the Government was urged to complete the Maruia traffic road to the hot springs, thus giving access to the great sanatorium on the West Coast, opening up auriferous and open pastoral land, and providing communication between the east and west coasts. •■ '
