AN EXPLANATION.

Sir, With reference to your report in this morning's paper on the inquiry held concerning tho death of my late typiste, Miss M. Kitchen, and more especially the paragraph dealing with Dr. Purdy's replyto a juror's question as, to how the girl got the plague, your reporter failed to take down the full" statement of Dr. Purdy. Dr. Purdy distinctly stated that, with regard to my office, he found it perfectly clean, and was well satisfied with it, and, further, that this unfortunate occurrence had happened without any neglect or default on my part. Ferct H. Basley. May 31, 1907.
