THE MISSING TOURIST.

NO HOPE THAT HE IS ALIVE.

[by telegraph.OWN correspondent!]..

_ Dunedin, Friday.. • The search for the missing American tourist, Mr. F. E. North, seems to establish beyond reasonable doubt that he has met his fate. On Saturday the police took possession of a bag which he had left with Mrs. Davis, a boardinghouse-keeper of Glenorchy, and,, it was opened in the presence of Mr. Gudgeon*' agent for the Public Trustee. The bag contained £127 in sovereigns, sundry papers, and articles of clothing. The property has been placed in the hands of the Public Trustee until something is heard in connection with Mr. North's estate. , ,
