ASHBURTON BAND CONTEST.

* . Ashburtox, Friday. The committee of the band • contest, to be held there on October 9 and ■ 10, have decided to give prizes amounting to about £225. For test selection . pieces the amounts, are: First prize, £60; second, £30; third, £20; fourth, £10. For quickstep, the prizes are: First, £25 ; second, ±115 ; third, ±;10; fourth, £5. For quartettes and solos, gold and silver medals will be awarded. Entries will close on July 6.
