POLITIC REFORM LEAGUE
ANNUAL MEETING AT PUKEKOHE. At a largely-attended meeting of the Pukekohe Reform League, held in the Masonic Hall, on Wednesday, Mr. Schlaepfer occupied the chair, and - gave a resume of the year's , work. The secretary's statement showed that there were 184 members on the roll, and many new members joined at the conclusion of the meeting. Mr. Schlaepfer.... was re-elected president, Messrs. Shepherd, Rutherford, Allan, and Bilkey. vice-presidents, Mr. H. H. D. Wily secretary and treasurer, and Mr. Potter auditor, while a committee of 'ten ladies and twelve gentlemen was appointed. A vote of thanks was accorded Mr. Schlaepfer and Mr. Wily for their services as president and secretary to the league during the past year. Mr. Massey wrote regretting his inability to attend, and offering to address a meeting, though he would be very busy till after the session. The meeting unanimously decided that as the Pukekohe dis-. trict had perfect confidence in their member, Mr. Massey, they would forego their claims in favour of some district he had been unable to speak in.
