FALL THROUGH A SKYLIGHT
CHILD'S NARROW ESCAPE. i [BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION*.] Christchcrch, Thursday. A little girl named Dolly Ryder, three years old, daughter of the caretaker of . Hobbs' buildings, had a miraculous escape from death yesterday afternoon. The child's parents occupy rooms on the top ■ storey of. the building, and the child was playing on the roof,- which is walled in. ■Sfc© was chasing a cat over the roof, and, r sleppmg on "an unprotected skylightf fell through the glass into an empty room "below, a. distance of 30ft. She was picked up in an unconscious state and taken to the hospital.
The child was very little cut or injured externally, but it is feared that her spine is hurt badly,' and that she may be permanently crippled. .
