The Union Company's steamer Squall, Captain Morrison, arrived rroin Gisborne and coast ports last evening after a very rough trip. The Huddart-Parker steamer Victoria having been docked at Sydney this trip did not get away for Auckland until yesterday afternoon. The German ship Nixie, bound from lquique to Sydney, was spoken by the steamer Pondo, which arrived from Piji yesterday. The Nixie sailed from the South. THE PONDO. , The • Alley liner Pondo, Captain Large, arrived from Vancouver and Fiji yesterday morning, and. being granted pratique, berthed at the Queenstreet Wharf. The steamer brings about 1000 ton* of cargo for ail New Zealand ports, 300 ton# of which are for Auckland. The steamer will discharge the whole of her cargo at this port, and it will bo taken South-by the coastal steamers. The Pondo, after taking in cargo for Vancouver, will proceed to Melbourne. The steamer left Vancouver on May 1 and reached Suva on the 21st-. Discharged cargo and left for Auckland on Friday last, reaching lUngitoto Channel on Wednesday night.
