On Saturday morning," at an early hour, I Te Horu (Pohutu's cauldron) was in a very agitated state, boiling furiously at intervals, and at twenty-five minutes to seven Pohutu geyser, commenced to play, and continued to erupt foi an hour and a-half. Waikorohihi, the Prince of Wales' Feather, and Kereru geysers were all playing at the same time. At a-quarter past nine the cauldron was again active, and on two occasions sent the boiling water several feet into space. • Four minutes later Pohutu erupted, and played continuously until twenty-one minutes past two p.m., the : shots'being fully 60ft; this display, which was a very fine one, lasted for five hours. ; Waikorohihi ceased playing 17 minutes iafter Pohutu. The Prince of Wales' Feather, .Waikorohihi, Kereru, and Papakura geysers played all day on Sunday.
