Paljiebston North, Wednesday. Owing to a constitutional difficulty a sitting of the Assessment Court, which was to have been held to-day, was adjourned,

It appeared that Mr. W. Stubbs, the assessor appointed by the Kairanga County' Council, on its behalf, was a member of the Palmerston Borough Council, and was consequently ineligible to occupy a - seat-on the Bench.

The position was explained by Mr. Thomson, S.M., president of the Court, and the sitting was adjourned to June 8. In the meantime- a fresh appointment will be made iby the Kairanga County Council.
