[ A new road, providing convenient Access to Pukekohe from the Aka ;Aka, Ota.ua swamp, and Waiuku district, "was opened on 'Friday at Puni, by Mr. W. F. Massey, M.H.R. Mr. West, chairman of the Pukekohe West Road Board, referred to the assistance rendered by the Waiuku and Waipipi Road Boards, and said the new road would carry an immense amount of traffic. Mrs. Barber cut the ribbon, and. speech©: were ; given by Major Harris, M.L.C., and Mr. C. Hocking. During the afternoon Mr. West was presented with a gold albert and pendant, on behalf of the I settlers, in. recognition of his efforts in iconnectioi. with tha making of the road.
