The South Australian Government is pre* testing against the proposal made by th» Government of Victoria that it shall subsidise the Currie steam line to Singapore. It contends that the proposal is contrary to > the Federal Constitution, which debars one State from granting * .bonus without -the Federal sanction. The Victorian Government "lias undertaken- to give a subsidy of ' £20,000 a year to 'Messrs. Currie and Co.'s Eastern lino of ships for a regular, monthly service. i ________ .*' :
