CHRISTCHURCH BURGLARIES.
EFFICACY OF THE FINGER-PRINT ■ SYSTEM. [by TELEGRAPH. ASSOCIATION.] - Chbistchcbch, Thursday. Some three months ago several cases of burglary in the suburbs of Christchurch were reported to the police. During the last .fortnight .six more cases have been reported. This afternoon a. detective arrested two young men, both of Christchurch, and charged them with the burglaries. Their finger-prints ; were immediately taken, and it is said were found to correspond to those photographed from a'house that was broken into some time ago. One of the young men, who is an. ex-Burnham boy, has been convicted of simple theft. Some of the stolen property was found at his house., The . detectives dug up the garden at the other young man's .. place ; and found t a box containing bunches of keys and jewellery of every description, including medals and watches, altogether valued at between £80 and £90. , ,
