' Mr. Miller, wlio appeared on behalf of tho applicant, asked His' Worship for an adjournment before finally granting tho license, as his client had discovered. in the : meantime that a : mistake had been made; by; the surveyor with regard •to the area pegged off and originally applied for, and that only about half the area had been, included in the . plan lodged at the office. The * adjournment, which ';■ was required to allow of a frosh plan being prepared; including, the whole of ' the area applied 'for, was granted, for one month. C. E. PlumI mer, for the 1 Rise and Shine Extended' claim jof three acres' at Tapu, granted; "Bonanza 1 bold Mining Company,: for permission to j work the Rangatira special claim with four men; for six months, granted ; Magnet Gold Mining Company, for permission to work the Oomstock special claim with two men for six months, granted; W. J. Odium, for six months' protection for the Omahu- Candlelight special claim at Omahu, granted.' A plaint laid by-the mining registrar against B. Deeble for a certificate of abandonmeafc of the ; Enterprise No. ;i 2 ■ special claim, Tararu Creek, was decided in favour of the registrar on the ground of non-payment of rent, and forfeiture was decreed.
