' - ' Napier," Friday. Thomas : Peddle* a settler,, appeared in' , Court to-day charged with/assaulting Mr. Cutten,.S.M.\, in the execution of his duty as sheriff. Peddle some time ago;agreed to sell his station to Oswald Orr, but Peddle repudiated the agreement, and Orr took the : ease to the Supreme Court, where judgment,was given in his favour. Peddle went to, the Appeal Court, but 'was: again unsuccessful. V -•Yesterday Mr. . Gotten went up with a party of constables to execute an' order of* ejectment, but Peddle resented the intrusion: of. the law officers, and struck Mr. Cutten violently on-the nose. ; The accused was remanded. .. -'
