WAIHI EXTENDED. -' * INTERSECTION OF NO. 2 LODE. The mine manager of the. Waihi Extended Company telegraphed yesterday to. the effect that the. leader at No. 4 level, cut into and driven on a few; days ago,- has opened out to nine inches. This is taken as an indication that the reef may be near at hand. The inquiry for shares on the Stock Exchange yesterday, as a result of the report, hardened the price, sales taking place at opening at 6s, and reaching 6s 6d. ..-., [BY TEWSGBAPH. — correspondent.] ' . Waihi, Thursday. The No. 2 lode at No.. 4 level, in, the Waihi Extended mine has been intersected about 100 ft from: the' shaft in a direct line. The appearance of the reef is promising, a portion .'of it carrying -' sulphides. The , intersection of the ore body at the point indicated gives a length of 180 ft more than at the level above (No. 3). The track of the reef ;* is' -past $he ': shaft, thus showing , that at the next level going down (No. 5) the lode: may be expected to live out much further than at the present low level, which means a much, greater length on the reef as depth .is attained. .
