Mr. Thomas Wyllie, of Papatoetoe, celebrated his 91st birthday last Tuesday. Now that the lighting of Otahuhu by gas :is taking definite form the residents of neighbouring districts are inquiring as to the possibility of havnig the mains extended into their localities. The chairman of the Road Board is ,in receipt of an offer by which, if the Gas Company will lav the pipes as: far as the bridge over the Tamaki River. a.well-known, resident of Papatoetoe is. prepared to ' lay pipe' from that 'point "as far as t the* Presbyterian .
