The North Island amateur billiard championship tournament, was continued last night at. the Waitemata Club. The players were Messrs. Valentine and Cook. The game was won by the latter by 130 points. The winner played a steady consistent game all through, maintaining an average of 7.8 per cue. His best breaks were 43, 35, 34, 30, Valentine had considerably the worst of the run of the. halls. . His best break was 58. The result "of this game lends added interest to the final game of the tournament on Tuesday night next, when.Cook meets Sweet. Should Cook win the game he will tie with Sweet and Hackett for first place, while if Sweet wins he will win the championship, going'through without a loss. The tournament will be continued on Monday night, when Messrs. Valentine and Dickenson will be the players.
