The version to be staged is the one that Miss Jennie Lee played on her "starring" tour round the world. The acting edition has been slightly revised and brought up to date by Mr. Charles Holloway. The clever band of thirty children, comprising the popular tin can band," are still associated with the company. "The most striking personality." says one writer, of 'The Midnight Wedding,' is that of Harcourt Beatty, that capable actor whose impersonations in conjunction with Miss Nellie Stewart flre still fresh in the public mind. He was the true comrade, the dashing swordsman, the ardent and devoted lover— in fact, true grit throughout, and just the sort of creation the author must have intended. _ Mr. Beatty was artistically successful in every scene."
