A TROPICAL RAINFALL. DAMAGE IN COUNTRY DISTRICTS. [BY TELEGRAPH. — PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Nelson, Tuesday. Heavy tropical rains, which have fallen during the past two nights, have placed all the rivers in high flood. At Richmond the road is under water, and all the ditches have overflowed, some houses being damaged. The Wairoa River, at Brightwater, is in flood, and is still rising. It is feared that the whole country will be under water. At Wakefield Hood waters'have done considerable damage, filling cellars, entering lower floors of houses and stores, and silting up paddocks. It is still raining heavily at intervals.
