ANTHRAX IN MELBOURNE.
CONTAGION TRACED TO NEW
ZEALAND.

Melbourne, April 18. A man suffering from anthrax has been ad« milted to the hospital here. The chairman of the Board of Health elates that careful investigation shows that last week a firm of stock and station agents imported a consignment of hides from New Zealand. The glides were shipped l by coast il earner at New Plymouth, and afterwards placed aboard the Monowai. Only one bundle of the hides was handled in Melbourne, and from this the man appears to have contracted the disease.
