OTAHUHU PROGRESSIVE LEAGUE.
A meeting of the Otahuhu Progressiva League was held on Tuesday in the office of the Road Board. The reply to the letter sent to the Road Board inviting their coOperation in the establishment of technical classes \>as read, in which the Board promised their assistance in the matter.
Mr. Andrew reported having had an interview with the chairman of the Mount Wellington Road Board in connection with the water supply that Board is bringing into their district. The possibility of Otahuhu obtaining a supply from the saino source .vas inquired into. Several alternative schemes were mentioned, and it was decided to give the ratepayers the opportunity of discussing- the matter more fully at their general meeting.
'1 ho secretary read a letter from tho managing director of the Auckland Electric Tramways Company, which stated that upon the completion of the. Mount Eden extension the company would In- prepared to fully go into the question of the extension to Otahuhu. The next important matter before the meeting w»- tha* of selecting and supporting any candidates at the coining Road Board election?.. After discussion it was resolved, "That the league take no action in ih« matter." It was, however, decided that at tho general meeting of ratepayers a number of questions be placed before any declared candidates with tho object of ascertaining their views on the water supply and drainage, tho Station Road footpath, technical classes, the recreation reserve, building by-laws and regulation of areas to bo built on, and permitting cattle or tho roads.
