Ai.exandra South, Wednesday. The Governor commenced his official visit to Central Otago this morning. He ww met at a number of places en route and presented with addresses of welcome. At Alexandra to-night a conversazione was held to give the townspeople an opportunity of meeting the Governor. There was a very large attendance. To-morrow His Excellency goes on to Cromwell. PROPOSED VISIT TO GTRBORKE. [BY TELEGRAPH. — OWN" CORRESPONDENT.] nornk, Wednesday. The Mayor of Gisborne received a letter this morning from Air. 11. C. Waterlield, private secretary to the Governor, stating that His Excellency proposes to pay an official visit to Gisborne next month. He intends to arrive from Napier by road on. Sunday, May 19, and to leave on May 22. The 21st prox. will probably be spent by taking a trip up the railway and back.
