A RAILWAY FATALITY.

MAX RUN OVER BY A TRAIN.

[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.]

Christchurch, Tuesday. The list of accidents which have horrified the Christchu'rch public during the last few weeks, had another added to it this morning. From the facts available it appears that a man named Robert McAnulty, a. resident of Ashburton, boarded the second express for the .south at noon, at Christchurch. The train was passing through the Addington station, when Mr. Corbett, a train examiner, who was a passenger, noticed an object lying on the line, and as the express ran past the station he called out to Win. Schrader, a signalman, and several of the porters, who were standing on the platform, to '" look back," and pointed in the direction of the Lincoln Road. The railway officials immediately went along the line, and when near the junction of the north line with the main line they noticed a man lying near the metals with his head towards the line, and on picking him up he was found to have a. large wound in his head, from which the brain protruded. He was not. completely dead at. this time, though he was sinking rapidly. The parties communicated with several doctors, and the police, but before they arrived the mail had expired.
