Whangarei, Monday. To the great disappointment of the promoters the public hospital Sunday demonstration had agSi'.i to be put off yesterday owing to a deluging downpour. Bishop Neligan, who arrived on Saturday, met the northern delegates at Hikurangi the same day, and also conducted a confirmation service there, eight candidates coming forward. On Sunday morning lie celebrated Holy Communion at Christ- Church, dedicating the new church at Alauntr at eleven, and in the evening he held a confirmation service at Christ Church. The building was packed, and 12 candidates presented themselves. The Bishop proceeds to Kawakawa to-morrow, returning here on Wednesday.
