f Sydney, April 15. True steamer Fortunatus, hound from Australian ports to India, with a full cargo, has gone ashore on Flores Island, in lie Malay Archipelago. Her cargo is being jettisoned in the hope of refloating her. ,
The Fortunatus is a steamer of 3425 turn, register, and is commanded bv Captain .Stiffen]. Sin* was built at Newcastle in 190 L by Messrs. Armstrong, Whitwovtb, anil' Co., Limited, and was of the following principal dimensions':—Length, 345ft;>i breadth, 47ft 6in; depth, 22ft Tin. The steamer, which was owned by Messrs. A Currio and Co., of Melbourne, traded between Australian ports and India. Flores Island is the largest, of a chain of islands between Timor and Java. t
