London, April 14. Lord William Nevill has been sentenced to imprisonment for a year for having obtained £400 worth of jewellery from Messrs. Miller and Fitch, pawnbrokers, by means of a trick.
The wife of the prisoner stated in evidence that she had repaid Messrs. Miller and Fitch the amount they had lost.
The prisoner is the fourth son of the Marquis of Abergavenny. The trick he played was in returning the box with pieces* of coal wrapped in tissue paper instead of the jewels. He was in trouble some years ago and served a term of imprisonment for fraud.
