Work is fairly busy at the Seddonvillc State olliery at present. Good hard coal is being produced. The manufacture of briquettes from tho colliery's soft coal is proceeding at the works 111 Westport.

Hastings, Monday
Entries for the Hawke's Bay A. and P. Society's autumn show, which will be held at Hastings on the 24th inst., total 1085, against 912 last year, an increase of 171.
