London*, April 15. Telegrams from Nairobi, in British East Africa, state that Lord Elgin has been misinformed as to the character if the flogging inflicted upon the three natives by Captain Grogar and four other Europeans. It i? stated that it was less severe thar that given to prisoners in Englisl gaols.
Beutcr reports that a committee of tho Rand pioneers has cabled to Mr. Botha, urgently requesting him to support the agitation in favour of tho release of Captain Grogan and the other Europeans implicated in the affair.
Previous cablegrams indicated that the offence feu vhich Captain Grogan and his comrades have been sentenced to imprisonment for from a month to seven days was aggravated by the facts that tho flogging of the natives was done in front of the Courthouse where the natives had been acquitted and in face of the protests of the resident magistrate.
