MAORI RUN OVER BY A TRAIN.

Gisborne, Monday. Ax elderly native, named Henare Hura, was run over by a railway train on Saturday night at the north end of the Kaitorataln tunnel. He boarded the train at Te Karaka iu a muddled condition, and having no ticket was put off by the guard at Waipaoa station. When the train was returning from town late in the evening a blimp was felt at the tunnel, and the man was subsequently found on the line severely injured. He died yesterday morning.
