THE CHINESE NAVY.

London, April 12. Native reports state that China's new navy will cost annually 12,000,000 taels (about £2,000,000), including a dozen submarines.
The Chinese navy at present consists of a 4300-ton cruiser, three 3000 cruisers, a few misoellaneoiif vessel?, and some old torpedo-boats. A big battleship programme is in contemplation, but nothing has yet been ordered.
