RIVAL CLAIMANTS TO POSSESSION.

AN INTERESTING POINT.

By Telegraph.—Press Association.—

Perth, April 6. A UNIQUE position lias arisen in connection with the wreck of the steamer Mildura. After the crew had left the vessel a ibidem of Onslow boarded her, and now claims possession. According to shipping law, it is said, a vessel cannot be regarded as abandoned while anything alive, is aboard, and some cattle are still alive. The local manager of the U.S.N. Company and Lloyd's surveyor have since boarded the vessel. Both parties claim ownership, and are withstanding the horrors of the decomposing cattle in order to retain possession.
