THE PAPAKAIO BURGLARY APPEAL CASE.
FINDLAY WITHOUT FUNDS.

DtJNEDIN, Tuesday. Tire appeal on behalf of John Findlay, who was recently sentenced to five years' imprisonment, and adjudged to be an habitual criminal on a charge of burglary and theft at Papakaio, is being proceeded with. Findlay has declared he is without funds wherewith to prosecute bis appeal against the sentence,' and the Department, of Justice has therefore instructed the Crown solicitor, Mr. Eraser, to procure for Findlay's use the judge's notes of the case, and other material for the appeal, the Crown bearing the expense.
