PAPAKURA RACING CLUB'S

MEETING

Ideal weather condition* favoured the Popakura Racing Club for their annual meeting, which eventuated at Glenora Park last. Saturday, while the attendance was large, constituting ft record for the course. In the absence of the totalizator speculation was carried on through the agency of the bookmaker*. Strong fields were the order, while the racing was very interesting, especially the finishes in the Cup and the.. Hock Handicap. Mr. F. W. Edwards is entitled to a warm word of raise tor his successful handicaping. The Judge's box was capably filled by Mr. J. (J. Rutherford, while Mr. Hankcn. who officiated as starter, got. his fields away well, with the exception of the Hack Handicap. Mr. Fred. D. Yonge ably attended to the secretarial duties and got, the programme off well to time. There were no protests or accidents, and the meeting passed off without a hitch. The course had been ploughed and re-laid with grass since last meeting, and. though level, was somewhat heavy, it. is now one mile eight- chains and a-lialt round.
