These competitions are promoted with a view to encouraging photographers, both professional and amateur, to produce pictures suitable for journalistic workPhotography in New Zealand has attained a high standard, and, favoured with unrivalled climatic conditions and an infinite variety of subjects, there is a, wide scope and an excellent future for out-door photography. The Weekly News has arranged classes, into which the subjects for competition are divided, to fairly represent the present demands of illustrated journalism.
