At a meeting of the Cambridge Borough Council on Thursday night the question of the site for a, new post office was reopened by the Deputy-Mayor, Mr. Wilkinson, who moved that the Government be offered the site on which the old public hall stands, adjoining the site of the present oilier, in exchange for equal value in land. The proposal" caused animated discussion, as the Postmaster-General had intimated that if inhabitants could not agree as to the site the matter would be indefinitely postponed. A large number want it erected on the high •'round near the National Hotel, and business people favour the Duke-street site, l/'timately it was decided to hold a special meeting (in February 1, to further consider the matter.
