ARREST OF A SEAMAN. IN POSSESSION OF 400 SOVEREIGNS. By Telegraph.—Press Association.—Copyright. (Received January 25, 11.8 p.m.) Sydney, January 25. Iv October last one thousand sovereigns wero stolen from the steamer Navua, while on a voyage to the Islands. Efforts to trace the robber failed until the Government yesterday offered a stimulant in the shape of £100 reward, and 10 per cent, of any money recovered. To-day the police arrested a man who formerly was a seaman on the. Navua, on suspicion, and 400 sovereigns were found among his possessions.
