VOLUNTEERING NEWS.

No. 9 GARRISON VOLUNTEERS. THE No. 9 Company Garrison Artillery Volunteers are at present in camp at Fort Takapuna, under Captain Hazard. A church parade to Holy Trinity Church. Devonport, was held yesterday forenoon. The service was conducted by the Rev. T. Evershed, and the parade was under Captain Hazard ami Lieutenants Feeney and Morran. A large number of visitors attended the camp, which was thrown open in the afternoon, the guests including Captain Pilkington, Forbes, Kay. Gardner, Lieutenant Hurgess. and the Rev. T. Kvershed. The Garrison Hand, under Bandmaster Williams, was in attendance, and rendered excellent music. Firing practice will be held at six p.m. 10day. On Wednesday service competitive practice "ill take place at live a.m.. and other tiring practice will lollow during the camp. The annual smoke concert takes place on Friday next. AKAP.ANA RIFLE CLUB. The trophy matches of the Akarana Rifle Club were fired tin Saturday afternoon, on the club's 1 autre at Penrose. 'I here was a good attendance.
