London', December 22. Pkioe to the prorogation of Parliament Mr. Winston Churchill, replying in the House of Commons 16 Mr. J. B. Lonsdale regarding th*' application of the Australian States for admission to the Colonial Conference, said the Government was unable to reconsider its decision, viz., that the Conference must be constituted the same us that of 190?. The Conference itself must decide the question of the inclusion of the States. There was no likelihood of the Conference passing any resolution appertaining to the State Governments.
The State Premiers of Australia have anplied for invitations to the Conference, on the grouud that they mo tins head!, of Sovereign States, which deal with gubjesM that will come up at the Conference. Th« (Prime Minister of Australia has objected to .the representation of the individual States*, on th» ground that the Fedora! representative will spook and act for all Australia.
