GERMANS AT BANGKOK.
SEEKING TO BUY THE DOCK.

i Germans are now striving to obtain | a controlling interest in the dock at I Bangkok, Siam, the interest in j which at present is mainly British, ; whilst the shipping frequenting the I port is mostly German,
Siam's trade, both imports ami exports, is chiefly with Singapore, Hongkong, Great Britain, India, Germany, and China, in the order named. More than half the shipping entering Bangkok, however, is German, the North German Lloyd supplying most of the tonnage.
