The official opening of the Waitemata Clubs green at Northcote took place on Saturday afternoon. The weather conditions were favourable, and there was a good attendance of visiting bowlers. Anion"- the visitors were Mrs. E. W. Alison and Mr. C. H. Poole, M.H.I!. The president of the club (Mr. Geo. Fraser), in extending a hearty welcome to the visitors, expressed pleasure at seeing so many ladies present and Mich a good representation from the sister clubs 1 he membership, he said, was about 40 and th .e grrcon 118 ft square, of eight rinks, permitted 64 to play at one time. Much interest centred round this game. On. Wednesday afternoon last a number of Hamilton bowlers journeyed to Cambridge to play a match there. They were very, successful in all their games, winning on the three match rinks by an aggregate of 80 to 43. The visitors' first year's players were.also winners by 27 to 17.
