HUNGRY SCHOLARS' BILL.

MITTEE.

London - , December 10. The .Bill making provision for supplying meals to school .children has passed the committee stage of the House of Commons, after a sitting lasting 15 hours.
The Bill was brought forward last year owing to the school inspectors having reported that many children, notably in the East End of London, attend school without first having' had a meal. It has undergone various alterations based on reports of a Departmental Committee. The scheme now is to provide meals and to recover the cost where possible* from the parents. There is to be a special meals education rate, which is not to exceed a halfpenny in the pound.
PLURAL VOTING BILL RE-
JECTED.
(Received December 11. 11.5 p.m.) London, December 11. The House of Lords by 142 votes to 43 has rejected the Plural Toting Bill.
The. Bill is intended to prevent an elector, because ho is a freeholder in more than one electorate, Toting in more than one constituency.
THE TRADES,-DISPUTES BILL.
London, December 10.
Lord Lindley (Lord of Appeal in Ordinary)., in a letter to the Times, protests against what he describes as the insupportable tyranny of the Trades Disputes Bill.
