THE ALIENS ACT.
A PROTEST. By Telegraph.Press Association.—Copy light. (Received December 4, 10.28 p.m.) London, December 4. Tbe Liverpool Conservative Working Men's Association has indignantly protested against the action of the Home Secretary .(Mr. Gladstone) in relaxing the operation of the Aliens Act, and thus enabling indigent foreigners, including Chinese, to swarm into England.
There were complaints early in the year of the Act having been almost laid aside in favour of indigent Polish and Russian immigrants.
