' The mail steamer Sonoma, Captain J. 11. Track, arrived from San Francisco and Island ports at noon .on October.29 after a. pleasant, voyage of 22 days 11 hours 5 minutes, very line weather being experienced throughout. The Sonoma left. San Francisco at 2.30 p.m. on October 5, and arrived at Honolulu on the 13th, resuming the voyage the same date, and reaching Pago Pago on the 22ud. Lett again the same date, and stopped for the Auckland pilot at, 11.45 a.m. October 29, reaching the anchorage shortly afterwards. The steamer left for Sydney at 11.30 a.m. on October 30. THE VENTURA. The mail steamer Ventura. Captain. H. M. Hayward, arrived from San Francisco and Island ports at 10.30 p.m. on November 18, and after the usual inspection was granted pratique. Mr. F. B. Cavarly. the purser, reports The Ventura left San Francisco on October 27 at '9.44' p.m. and called at Honolulu and Pago Pago, and arrived at Auckland as above. Time from San Francisco, 20 days 23 hours 35 minutes; steaming time, 19 days 21 hours 51 intimites. Fine weather prevailed on the passage. The Ventura left for Sydney at 8 a.m. on November 20.
