[BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.]

Thames, Thursday. The annual Flower Show held by the Hauraki Ladies' Benevolent Society took place to-day at St. James' Hall. He congratulated the members of the society on the success attending their efforts, and bespoke a generous response from the public, pointing out that the object was a worthy one, as the proceeds of the show were used by the society to relieve the necessities of distressed families throughout the district. Mr. Hay, of Auckland, acted as judge for the exhibits of flowers and vegetables,.Mr. Scott for bread and cakes, Mr. Wood for butter, and Miss Martin for decorated hats.
