' Talismans were placed at 29s 6d, and more wore available at that figure, late buyers '' 29s 3d. Waitangis were f.rmer, and contributing shares sold at Is 3d and Is 9d, and ' closed with demand at Is 7d. Crowns sold at 4s 6d, and there were further sellers at 4s Bd, buyer's quoting 4s sd. Golden Belts ; (paid) had sales at 2s 3d; late sellers 2s 4d, '' buyers 2s 2d. Komata Reefs sold at 2s 2d; late sellers 2s 2d, buyers 2s Id. GROCERS' MARKET QUOTATIONS. October 31. we held oar sale at Kuiti, and yarded over 700 head of wellbred cattle- There was a good attendance of settler* and the bidding was spirited throughout for all steers from yearlings to -two-year-olds. Three and roar-year-old steers were inclined to be dull of sale at the hammer, but improved as the sale proceeded with the exception of one line of four-year-olds, all of which were quitted privately at prices about similar to those now ruling in the Waikato. Wellbred three and three and a-liall year old steers, £4 12s 6d to £5 73 6d: two and two and a-half year old steer 3, £3 5s to £3 17s 6d; good 13-month steers.'£2 14s to £3 3s: choice yearling steers, £2 to £2 6s: mixed yearlings, £1 lis to £2 Is, others £1 4s to £1 8s; good heifer calves, £1 3s to £1 10s; quiet empty two-year-old heifers. £2 5s to £3 sa; fresh conditioned cows and heifers. £2 2s 6d to £2 17s 6d. At the sheepskin sales 4700 were offered. There was good competition, and nearly all were sold. Compared with the September sales, combing merinos and tine crossbreds. were a farthing to a halfpenny dearer: low crossbieds were unchanged, and shortwoolled a halfpenny dearer. Wheat: American visible supply is 64,841,000 bushels. Twenty-four thousand quarters South Australian January shipment have been sold at from 29s lOid to '30s. At the kauri gum sales, 1013 cases were offered, and 150 sold. Prices are unchanged.
